Takedown policy
How a rights holder requests the removal of a package from MeteorGPL, what happens within 48 hours, and what is removed.
Version 2026-10-07.2 · Last updated
Who handles requests
MeteorGPL is operated by WebbingApps OÜ, which redistributes code under the GPL its vendors declared and removes bundled assets that may be licensed differently (see the licensing page). If you hold rights in a package and believe that its redistribution is not covered by that licence, this is how to have it removed. Requests are handled by WebbingApps OÜ:
- WebbingApps OÜ — a private limited company (osaühing) registered in Estonia
- E-mail: packages@meteorgpl.com
- Website: webbingapps.com
How to request a removal
Send an e-mail to packages@meteorgpl.com with:
- the package name as shown on the site (for example
meteorgpl-plugin/example) and, if the request concerns specific versions or files, which ones; - who you are and on what basis you hold the rights (vendor, author, or their representative);
- why the material is not covered by the licence declared in the product (for example a file that is not under the GPL, or a product whose declared licence is not the GPL);
- a way to reach you for questions.
What happens next
Requests are handled within 48 hours of receipt. A plausible request from a rights holder leads to the immediate withdrawal of the named package, versions or files while it is examined; you receive a confirmation naming what was withdrawn. If the request concerns files that should have been removed by policy, the policy is corrected and the package is rebuilt without them. If a disagreement remains, the material stays withdrawn.
What is removed
Withdrawn versions disappear from the repository metadata and can no longer be installed; their dist archives are deleted. The package page keeps a record of the version with the status “withdrawn”. Where an entire package is withdrawn, its page is unlisted. Customers who installed a withdrawn version are not contacted individually; the status page reflects the change at the next build.
